Thoughts On: Better Call Saul Premiere...It Was Better Than The Walking Dead

Any one who has seen Breaking Bad understands how important this show is. The big question on everyone's mind is, how will this stack up to BB? Well not too bad actually...

Anybody else recognize Saul's brother from the X-Files?
The Black and White Scene:
The opening scene was excellent, why? Well if you think about it, it was really a glimpse into the Breaking Bad timeline. If the show keeps that timeline and develops any plot with it, theres no reason   why someone like Jesse can't make an appearance at some point (although I don't know how he'd make it to Nebraska). Saul looked a lot like Walter did in hiding. The fact that Gilligan was willing to start the show this way is very promising...

Tuco is Back:
Well I didn't see that coming. My initial thought is that he (and Saul) can't die so I hope the next
episode feels like there's something at stake. Regardless, will Tuco become a regular show villain? Or is he just an attention getter?... (which totally worked by the way). I'm crossing my fingers for a cameo by a pre bell tio Salamanca...

A cameo was also made by Walter White...
Everything Else:
The show was a little slow building up after the flash forward, but was still rock solid. We got to see...
1. that Saul's lawyer skills were once crap...
2. Mike make less of a cameo than he did in the preseason sneak peak...
3. Saul's crappy office in the back of the nail salon he will later try to convince jesse to buy...
4. that same diner that almost every major character of Breaking Bad has eaten at...
5. how poor Saul was...poor man's refrigerator...
6. Saul beat down a trash can the same way Walter beat down that bathroom towel dispenser thing...
7. that broken windshields are truly common place in Albuquerque, New Mexico...
8. Saul's brother Chuck, and how loving a brother Saul is...
9. characters drive by Wontabow...(remember Gale's apartment?)

This show needs a "Talking Saul":
...really bad...

It's a good thing we won't have to wait long for episode 2...judging by the preview, its starting to look like getting thrown into the desert is also pretty common place in Albuquerque too...
