Thoughts On: Golden Globe Predictions

The Golden Globes are upon us...Lets just get to it...
Long live the McConaissance...

Best Television Drama:
All these shows did well, but... House of Cards was next level in its second season and should win. Downton Abbey for example, forfeited any hopes of ever winning when they lost Mathew Crawley in season 3... Game of Thrones had a good season, but Tyrion's never-ending jail time won't be enough to bring home the gold...

Best Actor, Drama:
I would love Kevin Spacey to win this, but he won't. Spader won't
either, although I'm finally seeing him as someone other than Grant from Stargate and Graham from Sex, Lies and Videotape... It will go to Clive Owen for The Knick.

Best Actress, Drama:
This is a hard one to call, but it definitely won't be Clair Danes...She squeezed every drop from her role on Homeland, which should have been cancelled. The Affair's Ruth Wilson for the win...

Best Performance in a Miniseries or Television Film:
Remember how after Lord of the Rings you couldn't see Elijah Wood as anything but a hobbit while you saw Wilfred? Martin Freeman has the same thing going on. True Detective has two chances to win this one. That said,...its all about the McConaissance. If it wasn't for Bryan Cranston he would have an Emmy already...he'll be happy with this... What are the odds that Francis McDormand would be competing against Fargo for which she won her Oscar? She'll be rewarded with a win...

You get the idea...
Best Supporting Performance in a Series, Miniseries, or Television Film:
I can't see Alan Cumming as anyone other than Boris Grishenko from Goldeneye... so he won't win... Beware the repeat win for Jon Voight, with a possible steal by Bill Murray for Olive Kitteridge. Boy I love True Detective but I'll never understand why Michelle Monaghan got a nomination... Anna Bates deserves it more than Kathy Bates, I'll go against the support for Orange Is The New Black and call the sleeper win for Downton this year...

Best Miniseries or Television Film:
I would say that this is going to be a hands down win for True Detective, but it could get thrown in the wood chipper by Fargo.

Who will be the real winners? probably Tina Fey and Amy Poehler...
