Thoughts On: The Walking Dead Season 5 B... What's Next?

Leftovers cross over...

           The second half of The Walking Dead season 5 is on the horizon. This is a show that has had it's ups (Woodbury attack, both of them) and downs (the farm). Season 5's first half was enough to keep me watching, especially the Terminus opener. After that, the show killed off characters I felt should have lived (longer) and further reinforced my expectation that Rick has to bail everyone out. That said, I don't want Rick, Daryl, or Michonne to die just like every other fan. Considering I've never opened the graphic novel, and considering I've successfully avoided all spoilers, here are my thoughts...



Don't Kill Rick or Daryl:
or Michonne, did I say that already...

Don't Introduce Characters For Nothing:
What were those Governor episodes for last season? What about the flash back for Gareth? The Dawn and Beth relationship? Many of the episodes that serve as character development are feeling more like filler. Two new characters the show devoted some background to (Gareth and Dawn) are dead, and one new character (Gabriel) the show devoted much less time on is still running around...

What's the New DC?:
So our heroes were in and out of Terminus within two episodes...and Eugene lied, now what? An early promo made it clear the characters don't want to just make it work on the road. The alternative needs to be more interesting then the prison (which was more interesting then the farm, which was more interesting then Dale's RV), and has to result in the deaths of at least two characters (Im talking to you T-Dog and Lori).

Bring Morgan In:
Enough waiting, Morgan must join the plot. If he finally meets the other characters at the end of the season, I will be disappointed. His arrival must also usher in a significant plot change, because if all he adds is another body, we got enough of those...

           Did I mention I don't want Rick, Daryl, or Michonne to die?...
